Mechanic replaced thermostat, clutch fan (second one in two years), water pump (third one in four years), and it still overheats if it is hot outside or with city (stop and go) driving. I took it back to the Sears mechanic and he said he cannot find anything wrong. They let in run for hours in the sun I the parking lot and it never overheated. They said the radiator, hoses, and head are all good. Please help!

Good morning.

It sounds like the radiator may be clogged with debris. Letting it run for hours at idle will never tell if it is bad.

It fails under load or while driving. They need to drive it until it runs hot. Then they need to take the temperatures of the radiator at the top and the bottom of the radiator.
