In the fall temperature gauge started to raise I have yet to let it overheat. It was okay in winter because of cold temperatures. Now that it is hot out have to address the issue. Top heater hose from radiator is warm bottom will burn your hand is this a sticky thermostat? I don't have the money to chase problems on this car. I have had it for eleven years.

Verify cooling system is full. If low on coolant then pressure test the system to check for leaks. If any leaks then repair and recheck. Verify fan is working properly. If all is okay then replace the thermostat.
