As far as the P0452, the fuel tank pressure sensor is a small black sensor with a three wire connector mounted into a rubber grommet on the fuel pump housing. It is easily removed by GENTLY prying straight upward on the sensor. If you didn't have the code before, you can simply swap your old sensor in its place. Make sure to put a little lube on it before reinstalling so you don't damage the sealing grommet ( preferably silicon dielectric grease)

Unless you had the battery tested then you don't know if the battery is bad.A weak battery can case the starter to make a clicking noise because there isn't enough amps to operate the starter correctly. Everything else on the vechile takes a lot less amps to operate.

I know what the sensor is. My question is ( I wont know fuel pressure until tomorrow) is either of the other problems a possible reason for it not to work? Would the fuel tank pressure sensor OR the pressure control valve be a reason the car wont start?

I will have more info tomorrow on the pressure

No, I don't have a multi meter. The battery cannot, seriously, be the issue with this truck. A battery would not cause it to NOT start when it rains. Otherwise, it started fine until Christmas Eve. At which point, I parked it because I am NOT going to continue to get stranded at work 45 minutes from home. What are the other more logical causes for this. And for the fact that there is no heat?

When its colder the battery has less cranking amps so if its weak then it will show more when its cold. That's why I asked to just have the battery tested. So the starter justs clicks and doesn't work when it doesn't start? Also make sure the battery cables are clean and tight?A multi meter would really help trouble shoot the no start. Even if I was there when it acted up when it didn't start I would want to test some things. So how do you get it to start when it won't start?Just wait?As far as your no heat I would when the engine is up to operating the temp. See if both heater hoses going into the heater core at the firewall are too hot to hold?

OK WELL instead of checking the fuel pressure I decided to just buy a new pump. Still having same issue. Wont start at all. Any other ideas since now I know its not the pump. Odd thing is it worked just fine until I replaced the gas tank

I bought a Chilton today. The Chilton has been more helpful. The battery tests fine. The cables are tight and have no corrosion on them or the connectors. Yes, when it wouldn't start, I would have to wait for it to decide it was gonna start. I am in the process of replacing the cap and rotor since I am told by another auto professional these vehicles are known for getting moisture inside the distributor caps which will cause the vehicle to not start. NOT the battery. This issue has been ongoing for months now. Even during the summer months and would only do it when it rained. As soon as it dried out, there would be no issues with it starting. The Chilton is telling me, as far as the heat, that since the hoses to the heater core are both getting hot that the heater core, itself, may have a blockage. It tells me to remove the hoses and backflush the heater core to remove any blockage. If this doesn't solve the no heat issue, to replace the heater core because it is faulty.I should have bought this book before now instead of getting answers that weren't of any help.

You said you hear a horrible clicking noise when it won't start I thought you were talking the starter clicking and being inop. As far as the heater hoses go you said there both getting hot?Are they both getting too hot to hold going into the heater core at the firewall? If so the heater core is not blocked so you miss spoke or Chilton has a miss print in there manual. If both heater hoses are getting too hot to hold and you still have not hot air there is a blend door issue. Is your distributor up front by the belt?If so you could be getting water in the cap.I had a 1969 caddy that the distributor was up front. Every time I drove it in the rain if I rained hard enough the car would stall. Next time it won't start pop the cap off and see if there is water under the cap. To fix my caddy I found a ford at pick a part that had a rubber boot that covered the cap. I put the boot on my cap problem solved. Hope this helps no need to try to put down this site down
since were here to help even if someone is trying to knock our help lol.

Electrical problem
2000 Oldsmobile Bravada 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 160000 miles

My awd is out in my bravada and the other day I was trying to get it unstuck(snow) from behind my house. I was gunning it pretty hard and all of the sudden it shut off. There was no violent noise or any oil leaking out it just quit. When you try to turn it on it would only make a chirping noise. I replaeced the battery and now it won't do anything. The lights and everything else work fine.

By not doing anything, does the starter turn at all, or even click? If the starter makes a solid click, once everytime the key is rolled to crank, then you need to check and see if the engine turns over by hand. You might want to remove the belt first. If you have a socket that fits the crank pulley bolt, try and turn it with a ratchet or breaker bar. If you cannot get it to turn, try removing the plugs, and see if it changes. If it still won't turn, you have issues.
If the starter won't even click, check that there is a signal on the signal wire at the starter, although a fault like this would not have caused the stall.

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada. I just literally got the car back today where, after the A/C, brakes, and a window with power issues was worked on. They drove the car here so it was working before.

I decided to see how the car would run, so I tried starting the car. At first, the car had trouble starting (it is semi-normal, its had this issue in the past and the water pump was recently replaced). I waited a little bit and then tried starting the car again. This time, I had power since everything (a/c, radio, lights, ect) was working, but my starter (I believe, may be wrong) made a rapid clicking noise, same noise as when a car battery was dead. I gave it a few minutes, same thing.

I went inside to grab a couple things before coming back to the car, and my electrical system was all messed up because things were randomly turning on even though the car was not on and I had the only key (I know sounds like I am making this stuff up but I am not). Then, my battery went dead soon after.

Tried using another car to jump my car, but after 15 minutes my car still did not show an ounce of life. I know for a fact that I did not mess up the cables jumpstarting the car since I triple checked and I've jumpstarted a car before.

If it is relevant, this car was sitting unused in my driveway for at least 3 months due to overheating and a coolant leak, which I finally got fixed. Now, I'm in a cycle of getting this car back and it starts failing as soon as I get it back.

Any help or ideas would greatly be appreciated, hopefully I can get this thing running.

The first thing I would have checked is the battery if it tests bad replace it then have the alternator tested once you get it started. Also make sure the battery cables are clean and tight.

Well I could be wrong, but I could swear only about 2 years ago I had the battery replaced. Also if it was the battery, wouldn't I at least see some sign of power after trying to jump the car for 15 minutes? I'll try swapping the battery with one that I know for certain works tomorrow, but thanks I really appreciate it.

I have a 200 bravada, and sometimes it will start and then it will die. But once it gets started it works fine. We have had the fuel pressure checked and it shows 40-60 when it won't start. But once running it shows fine. What else can I have checked?
