MY ALERO WAS RUNNING FINE YESTERDAY BUT WHEN I WENT TO START MY CAR AFTER RUNNING SOME ERRANDS IT WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. WHEN YOU PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND WHAT SO EVER. THE RADIO AND CLOCK COME ON. IT KEEPS THE RIGHT TIME. THE LIGHTS COME ON BUT THERE IS NO SOUND LIKE THE CAR WANTS TO START AT ALL. IT MAKES NO CLICK, CLICK OR ANYTHING.

PLEASE HELP ME. MY CAR IS MY LIVELYHOOD.

Carrie:
You need to check if the starter is getting power. Have a friend turn the key to the start position, and check the smaller wire going to the starter for power with a volt meter. You should have 12 volts. Let me know what you find.

U need to take ur alero to the gm dealer and get the bcm reprogrammed, this is a common problem in these, starter motor is controlled by bcm, even if u jump the starter from the battery it will not atart the car.
