After a decent rain, or even if the yard sprinkler hits the car, it turns over, seems to start, and then dies down. It continues to do this for hours until the moisture in the air is reduced. I think it is some type of electrical situation. I have replaced the distributor cap and rotor recently and that did not help. What else could be causing this situation?

Hello,

Many of these 5.7L engines suffer from this issue.
It is usually caused by moisture in the distributor or the coil pack.
When it rains or high humidity moisture will get inside the distributor cap or inside the coil pack due to poor seal.
Usually you will have to replace the coil and clean out any moisture inside the cap and replace it with new o-ring.to poor seal around the coil.

Be sure to inspect the ignition control module as well.
