No crank no start issue

When you say it shut off in reverse was it like you turned off the switch or did it stall out like it was low on fuel. When you turn the key does the engine turn over or do you get nothing?
Any check engine or security lights on when you try to start it? The attached are the wiring diagrams for the base starting as well as the anti-theft versions. The first item to check would be the number3 fusible link. It powers the starter relay and transmission in both versions. If the dome lights are working the other fuse is okay. Then it could be the relays or the transmission switch but I would start with the fuses.
If you turn the key and the engine turns over but doesn't start then ignore the above. If that is the case then we will need to check for fuel pressure and spark.
