The car will not accelerate.

It will not speed up or go over to 25 MPH.

The rpm will not go over 3,000 RPMs.

Hi,

This could be the result of several different things. By chance, does the check engine light stay on when the engine is running? If it does, first have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. That will point us in the right direction.

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scan tool. However, often times a parts store will do it free of charge.

Without the codes, it becomes a guessing game. Things such as a plugged catalytic converter, low fuel pressure, transmission issues, and so on can cause it.

Let me know if there are any codes. If there isn't, we will need to start checking one component at a time.

Take care,

Joe
