Car will not start and when we connect the scanner there is no communication. Engine light is on as well as the red car with the key through it. Car was working perfectly fine and one day while pumping gas at a local gas station it just did not want to start anymore.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

It sounds like the anti-theft has the vehicle shut down. First, I need to know if the starter is engaging or not. Also, if you have a spare key, try it.

Let me know.

Joe

Yes, starter does engage and I do have the spare key and I have tried it too and nothing. I have watched some videos on how to reset anti-theft lock but just have not had any luck.

Hi again:
I wish I had better news, but I feel it may need to go to a dealer. The Nissan Anti Theft system (NATS) is not recognizing the key. Honestly, it has to be reprogrammed. I have around 12 pages or flow charts to identify the problem. However, it requires specialized tooling to complete. If you want, I can send it all to you. I realize most people do not have the tooling, but let me know.

Take care,
Joe
