brake lights wont shut off and only the drivers side blinker light is working. i just replace the turn signal switch because the blinker arm was shot and i was hoping a new switch would solve the problem. after looking around i found that a small round tin between the fuse box and column housing, probably a relay or switch box, was in some way bad. when disconnected would allow all 4 blinkers to work. so i began playing with the other 'tin' and found that this tin controlled the sound for the blinkers however when disconnected the lights go out when the truck is off and hazards are turnedon. are both these bad, i was assuming that the brake switch was bad is that still possible and does anyone have a link to a digram to my fuse box im missing the cover. please help this city has big box part stores and i cant find a rep who has ever opened a hood him/her self.

Hi cwhanson,

The 'tin' that controls the blinker sound is the blinker realy and it is bad.

The brake lights do not switch off maybe due to a faulty switch or the pedal switch rubber stopper is missing or worn, not allowing the switch to be turned off.
