Here is my problem I have a 1993 Nissan Sentra. The car was running fine until it was shutoff and then I tried to restart the car. It wouldn't start but everything worked fine. Lights, radio, blinkers, etc. Worked fine and no problems. I replaced the battery thinking this was the problem but still no fix. I have been told that there is a "clutch switch" under the dash that lets the car start after the clutch is depressed. Could this be the problem or is it something else? Also I had noticed the clutch would have to be depressed all the way to the floor before it would start. Other than this I'm just not sure what it could be so that is why I'm here. Please help.

Try to turn and hold the key to start position, then pump the clutch, if its a stick u can always ask somebody, try to push it put it on gear and released clutch if you got enough speed. If this fails try to adjust clutch lining.

I had a similar problem and my starter died (worn). If you can find the starter, then hit it with a hammer a few times to shake it lose a bit. You need those electical windings to move a little. Then your car will start right up.

It will cost around $650 to replace it if you go to a dealership. That is like $150-$200 for the part and the rest is labor.

If you've never had the starter replaced then I bet this is your problem.
