Engine pops and sputters when idling. Does perform cold start high idle. As engine warms performance worsens and idle drops. Intermittent stall. When hot vehicle wont accelerate. Has new spark plugs and wires. Have tried new ignition coil with no success. Timing belt and related parts have also been replaced due to excessive slack in belt. EGR valve inspected and found to seal well. Upstream 02 sensor replaced in last 6 months

Where should I begin...when I start my car up, put it in gear, or begin to drive, it shakes for a few seconds and then stops, only to begin shaking again a few seconds later. When im driving, it feels as if it is going to cut off when I come to a stop. I had the car tested and the codes P0300,301,302,303,304, and P1399 keep appearing, all which read "cylinder misfire"...This is rather irritating! Another thing that I have noticed is that my battery seems to die if my car sits in the driveway for a day or two, whether hot or cold weather. I got it recharged at Autozone yesterday and today it is dead again...I recently bought that battery also and it tested "OK". Im a college student and I really would like your help before I spend any money to get my car fixed! THANKS!

Hi MG4187,

Those misfires could be due to faulty spark plugs, distributor cap, cables and fuel injectors.

The battery drain could be due to some electrical components not being switched off. Check the trunk light. You njeed to do a drain test by pulling out all the main fuses and using an ammeter to test the current draw. Plug in one by one till the one that shows a high amperage and you need to check the circuit.
