I am having an electrical problem with my 87 Grand Marquis. When I step on the brakes, hit the turn signal, use the windsheild wipers, or sometimes when I don't do anything at all my interior lights flicker, the radio goes off and on, the clock on the dash flickers on and off, and even the headlights can dim way down. I don't want to start dumping money into the car blindly. Any thoughts? Alternator? Regulator? Bad Wiring?

Remove the negative battery cable, then go under the dash and pull the fuse panel out, see if there are any fried wires in the back side of it, repair any found, then make sure it all goes back together good and tight. Also check the small ground wire on the neg terminal at battery cable.

Ok, I checked the backside of the fuse panel and there are no fried or damaged wires. Also, the negative battery cable is very solid and making good connections. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Do the same thing under the hood, at the power distribution center, leave that neg cable off!
