P1135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

Need to replace your vehicle's heated oxygen sensor. There are normally two sensors - one on the front exhaust manifold and one on the rear. Bank 1 is same side as number 1 cylinder and sensor 1 is the sensor closest to the engine..

Suggested Repair

Replace the Bank 1 Sensor 1 heated oxygen sensor, the sensor closest to the engine on the same side as cylinder 1. P1135 indicates an O2 sensor heater circuit low voltage.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 1999 Mazda Miata MX-5 with 5600 miles reports a recurring P1135 code, described by the car computer as a manufacturer control issue involving pedal position and intermittent fuel-air metering. The throttle position sensor was already replaced, but the code returned after about 60 miles. The expert identifies P1135 as an O2 sensor heater circuit low voltage on Bank 1 Sensor 1 and recommends replacing that heated oxygen sensor.
