I have a 1998 kia sephia with about 83000 miles on it. Just yesterday my parking lights have stayed on. I am unable to turn them off only if I disconnect the negative on the battery. But when I put the negative back on my lights stay off thats untill I start my car then they come right back on and dont shut off again I did check the fuses and the relay box but I saw nothing blown. I pretty much dont know what lse it can be any suggestions for me?

this sounds like an electrical problem in the instrment cluster areamaybe with the light switch itself a blown fuse would only mean they wouldnt work at all this could also be a problem with an alarm system either factory or aftermarket

Suggested Repair

Inspect the instrument cluster area and the light switch. Also check for a fault in a factory or aftermarket alarm system. A blown fuse would keep the lights from working, not leave them on.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 1998 Kia Sephia says the parking lights stay on and can only be turned off by disconnecting the battery negative cable. They return after the car is started. Fuses and the relay box show nothing blown. The expert suggests an electrical problem in the instrument cluster area or the light switch, and possibly a factory or aftermarket alarm.
