I have a 91 Wrangler 4.0L with an external leaking head gasket and I just moved to Seattle and haven't tracked down a good/ reasonable mechanic yet. I was hoping someone could help me with a ballpark estimate.? Would it also be worth it to get a valve job too since everything is open? Or what else should/ could I address while the case is open?

hi,

i could answer the price question but i dont know what the rates are up there , but your on the right track with having the head gone through while its off , at a minimun a pressure test ,

just go over all of your other parts to see how they look, water pump , belt , timin cover gasket , just give it a good once over and replace anything suspect

i would def replace the thermostat

thanks
