My 95 Wrangler has never had to have any repair work done on it--It has 141,000 miles on it's 4 cyl engine. A few weeks ago my wife took it on a short ride and when she pulled into a parking spot it died--she could not get it restarted until it cooled down. I checked the oil and it was two qts low. (The engine has burned a little oil between changes but not to bad) I toped off and it was running fine again. Then last week after a three mile trip when parked radiator fluid was noticed under the car an hour latter. We could not tell if it came from my car or not. The engine was cold when I started it and went home--On the way (three mile trip) the temp guage was operating from norm to hot. At home I could see the fluid comming out from the bottom of the pump--O.K. I need to replace the pump--Also I know the exhaust manifold needs a new seal because it has been leaking where it meets the head. Since I am doing these two repairs should I also have the head rebuilt and do a new timing chain too?

Do a compression test to figure out the head. Why spend if you don't have to? As for the timming chain. When you have the water pump off take of the chain cover and inspect it. It could be a rubber belt type. If it is replace it.
