My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee's AC unit supposably is out of order. I was told that the little switch thing that turns it from cold to hot and vis versa went out and that I have to be a whole new AC
head unit. What do I do? I was quoted an outragous price for new and used units. Do I have to replace the whole thing or what?

Sorry for the late reply.

I saw an heater/ac temp control unit on ebay for 36 bucks. You may be able to do a web search and find one cheaper. There are many online automotive parts on the internet, see if they have your part and check the price. I've had good and not so good experiences with ebay, the bad experiences are mostly my fault. If you remove/replace the unit, then you have no labor charges.

I realize this is an old post. You may no longer own this vehicle. In the future, hope you don't have any vehicle issues, but, if you do, keep the site in mind. They are always working to improve the site and it's free.

Have a good day.
