The first warning signs were loosing power at speeds above 80 mph. If you decreased the speed below 80 it runs fine. Then recently, it failed to start. But did after a cool down period. I suspect the fuel pump is at fault. Problem is, it doesn't do it all the time. Since the pump is in the tank, I don't want to replace it only to find out it was something else. Help!

Question; If you take it out on the open road and stand on in low gear, full throttle, through 2nd gear, 3rd gear and into 4th does it hesitate or lose power at anytime? Don't do this just because I asked the question. I'm just curious. It could be the way the ECU is processing vehicle speed, engine rpm, timing and engine load all together. If you could come up a way to monitor fuel rail pressure under high speed and engine load conditions you would know if it was fuel pump. It still could be. Keep me posted.
