I have another problem developing from another YD25 engine. When driving its having intermittent power loss. I have replaced the prime pump, sediment sensor cleaned the fuel tank, and put a new diesel filter, still, I am having the same problem. When driving the vehicle just loses power. The RPMs drop.

Hi,

I need a bit more info. The Nissan Hardbody wasn't offered in 2018. Production ended in 1997. Thinking you may have meant the Frontier, I checked. The diesel wasn't offered.

If you are in the US, let me know. Also, please confirm the make, model, and year for me.

One other thing. By chance have you checked the catalytic converter to see if it is loose internally?

Thanks,

Joe

My apologies, it is a Nissan NP 300 with a YD25 engine. I am in Zimbabwe.

Hi,

That is the smaller pick-up truck, correct? I believe it is the same as our Frontier. However, the only ones offered in the US have a gasoline engine. There is a 2.5L 4 cylinder, but it is only offered on the 2wd and it's a gas engine.

Regardless, I can still try my best to help. Does the vehicle have any rattling from under it? Are there any diagnostic trouble codes stored in the computer?

Since the power loss is intermittent and you have replaced the fuel pump, I'm questioning if it is a partially plugged catalytic converter.

Take a look through this link. Although the link discusses gas engine vehicles, your vehicle still has a converter that may react the same.

Let me know as much as you can.

Take care,

Joe
