I have watched every video on installing the window motor and going through the speaker hole with the new motor in hand. Not on my 99', I can just squeeze the motor in through the speaker hole past the window frame but can't get my hand and the motor in far enough to set it in place. Do I have to take the window assembly out?

No, the window can stay in the truck just tape it in the up position once disconnected from the regulator. To access the power window motor bolts, use a 3/4-inch hole saw with a 1/4-inch pilot to drill two holes at the existing drill dimples on the door. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

I have the old motor out but there is not enough room to get the new motor back in place and hold on to it at the same time. Going in through the speaker hole the rubber coated part of the window frame that runs vertical and does not move, is in the way to get my hand in there.

Can you upload an image for what you are seeing, also did you remove the window regulator when you are replacing the motor?

No I didn't remove the regulator at the same time, that's what I wanted to know, if I have to remove both and to do so, do I drill out the rivets to get it out?

Yep, that is what needs to be done and be careful because the regulator is spring loaded.

Thank you Ken, when you say be careful when removing the regulator do I need to keep the regulator spring from unloading or what do I need to do when removing it?

Yes, you need to hold the regulator while taking the motor off because the spring will unload. You might need a helper or a pair of vise grips etc.

It is not too big of a problem once the motor is off of the regulator.
