Good work today! Correction, not a neutral indicator. Tested both old and new solenoids today, all D/C from any other connections but battery, two leads and a test light. Both worked. Old required ground at base, new did not respond to ground at base.

With all connections re-done per spec, >>>>I am able to get Jeep to run, with ignition switch turned to ignition, I then move to engine and jump form positive battery to large starter connection post on solenoid. Fired right up, did this twice, let it run for ten minutes. Turn off with key

But! When I went to turn the key off after the second ten minute run, started as per above, the IGN y jumper that connects to the Right IGN tab on the switch and then to 1) fused to blue green or blue line down ticket on a large group of taped wire groups and 2) to the Hazard switch or the fan switch, I think Hazard. The fuse holder was very hot, the wire on that part of circuit was very hot and the fuse holder came D/C from the wire down on the above loom. I will be able to tell where that goes when I get books open in am.

You have two different solenoids. When it needs the mounting bracket grounded, that is required to work that way, and the new one must be the same. The second small terminal is for the ignition resistor bypass. If you did have a neutral safety switch or clutch switch, it would be in series with the small wire plugged in on top to the first small terminal.

It sounds like your second solenoid uses the two small terminals on top for the actuating coil. Those have no connection to the mounting bracket. They're typically used with electronic ignition that has no ballast resistor to bypass during cranking. That's the terminal that would go to a neutral safety switch or clutch switch if you had that.

Yep, that solved it, that plus a new ignition switch and coil. Good to go. Starts and runs and shuts off with key, multiple starts. Did use the old solenoid with ground on bracket. Had to tighten some ignition connections. Had cut out while moving the harness and ignition switch. Got to solve the alternation light on speedometer. Thank you both very much for your help.
