It is unlikely that the exhaust tip would melt the bumper but it could heat the paint to possibly cause some damage.
Here is a guide that will help with removing and installing an exhaust system in case you need it:

More than likely you will be able to adjust the way the exhaust hangs so that it doesn't touch the bumper. I would suggest loosening the entire exhaust and then tighten it from the front to the rear making sure each joint is straight and each hanger is hanging as far down as possible.
