It bogs down when you turn the car off. It will sit for a minute and start back up. How many fuel filters are on this car and where are they located?

Good morning.

There are two filters. There is one external and one internal in the tank. I attached a picture of the external but to access the internal, the tank must be removed for access.

The fuel filter is located under the rear seat in a compartment above the fuel tank. Also, a filter sock at the base of the fuel pump located in the fuel tank.

I own a 1998 hyundai elantra 1.6. The fuel filter is right under the break master cylinder on the drivers side.

Where is the fuel filter located on my car and how do I replace it? Is it inside the fuel pump assembly? This model is the GLS. Does that make a difference? Thank you.

The fuel filter is near the top of the tank next to the fuel pump here is a guide to help walk you through replacement and diagrams below to show you the location.
