Where is the Mode Door Actuator located and what is the procedure for replacement?

Hi,

The mode door actuator is under the dash mounted on the HVAC box. If you look at pic 1 below, I highlighted it for you.

The remaining pics are the directions for replacement. Note, they are somewhat vague as far as I'm concerned, so let me know if you have questions or need help.

Just a side note, disconnect the battery before doing this. Once the part is installed, reattach the battery and the new actuator will self-calibrate.

Hi Joe, thanks for the quick response, unfortunately or maybe fortunately this car has healed itself. When starting up the other day it worked correctly and has every time since, I don't get it! I'll save the information but like you, I would have had to find or download a service manual to really get the difficulty of the repair. Whenever you see "Refer to Instrument Panel Side Trim Replacement" etc., that's where real work comes in. thanks again, David

Almost impossible to get to the top screw, it would make it a lot easier if you just pulled the dashboard and the windshield.
