Humming or whirring noise from the rear wheel?

I'm hearing a noise when I drive my car. Only whole driving. I accelerate, so does the noise and it gets louder. I think my tire is rubbing on the hat of the strut housing. Why would it do that? Didn't do it before. Oh yeah, also had really bad wear on inside of tire. Just to be clear, it the driver side rear. Can you please explain what happened? Thank you
