My 89 Honda Prelude 2 litre Si has developed a squeek around the front end. I can hear it when I drive slowly and also when I turn the steering wheel. it is definitely associated with the suspension, as I hear it when I bounce the front of the car. When the front wheels are jacked up off the ground, there is no noise as I turn the steering wheel.
I suspected the ball joints were dry, but lubricating them did not help.
I currently suspect the rubber journals at the top of the suspension. Perhaps they have broken loose and are now rubbing insted of flexing The car has 223,000 miles and is still running very well so I would like to stop this embarrissing problem.
Has anybody else had this noise and fixed it?

There are multiple rubber bushings or mounts that could cause this. The squeek would disappear when off the ground. It is the weight of the vehicle on the bushing or mount that causes the noise. Check sway bars, struts, etc. This one will be tough to nail down and hard to remedy without getting down and dirty. Happy hunting and Merry Christmas to you!
