I just recently stared having trouble with my car starting. I turn it over and it dies. I have to push in the brake and rev the engine to get it to start. That onle works after a couple attempts. Do you know what could be wrong?

Could you give a little more information, like the car type, model, engine, mileage, etc. Was anything done to the car recently, etc.

It is a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe DX it has about 208,000 miles :) I believe it's just a four cylinder, it's an automatic. I got it about one year ago and this is the first problem I have had. I keep up one the oil but I have not had anything else done to it. Please help!

Once you get it started does it seem to run ok? Does it keep running without giving you any worries about killing?

Once I get it started and going it seems to do fine. I had to try and start it twice this morning, then it was fine and I couldn't get it to start at all today on my lunch, and sometimes it starts with not a problem. This started happening about three weeks ago just once in awhile and now it seems to be getting worse. HELP!

I would start by hooking up a fuel guage to the vehicle and see if when it doesn't start if you have fuel pressure still.
Another thing you can try is tapping on the main relay when this problem occurs its usually a grey or black box about 4inches by 2 inches located either on the LH side kick panel or on the right hand side of the steering column.

Ok thanks! Do you think I should just go to a mechanic? You must remember I am a girl and everything you said I have no idea what any of that is  I was kind of thinking that the fuel gauge had something to do with it cause it seems like it dosen't get enough gas when I try to start it. Would replacing the fuel pump fix the problem? Thanks!

Ok so when I was driving to work today my car just died all of the sudden, I pulled over and got it to start again but I'm now wondering if taking it in would be the best thing seeing how it's just getting worse. Please advise!

Soory you think that because you're a girl you can't know about cars. Anyways I'll try and be a little more basic.
It sounds like an electrical problem most likely in your fuel injection system. Don't go"ugh" yet. The "main relay" I described to you earlier is if you look under your dash for the described box it will be stamped "main relay". From there knowing that this is the relay in question the next time the problem occurs you'll know where to tap. I worked on these cars for years and it sounds to me like that relay without looking into to it further. If it does start after tapping it you can change the piece yourself, just go to a dealership purchase a main relay, unplug yours and plug in the new one(that simple)
At the very most you might have to undo a 10 mm bolt to release it from your vehicle.
By the way where are you writing from, I'm from montreal!
GOODLUCK!
