Hi, after some advise as I know nothing about cars! I have had mt CRX for nearly 9 years and touch wood this is the first problem I have had with it. It will either start first time or not at all, at first it wouldnt start if it had been raining alot and now its 50/50 if it will start, it either starts immediatly or not at all, when it wont start it still turns over but wont actually fire. I couldnt start it at all last week and on sunday my dad WD40'd some of the engine then we tried to jump it off his car, it kept turning over then going to fire but not actually running, eventually after about ten mins it did start and has been ok to start today. What might be wrong with it?

Hi AimeeC,

Quite likely fuel is not being supplied to start the engine and the most likely suspect is the PGM-FI maiin relay. You can take it out and check the circuit board for cracks at some of the soldered contacts. If any are found bad, resolder them and you should solve your problem. This is a known problem for relays pre year 2000

If no fault is found with the relay, you might have a failing fuel pump which is not working intermittently and might fail anytime.
