I have a 2000 V6 Honda Accord wih 127,000 miles and just recently after starting it and driving a short distance the following warning lights came on and stayed on: brake light (brake was not engaged), door and trunk lights as though they were open(they were not) and the battery light. Could this be the alternator going bad? The car seemed to run ok but, I thought I heard a low whining noise coming from under the hood. Any ideas? Thanks

Take it and have the alternator checked. Do any of those light problems go away and then come back?

My whine started a couple of weeks ago. Today the "idiot" lights came on. They come on and went off (staying on or off for up to 5 minutes)for the 25 miles I drove it home.

Sound like the alternator?

Oh I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX - V6 with 109K miles.
