1992 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

Hi,

My honda accord 1992 only crancks but will not start. I have changed the distributor, the sparkplug wires, the timing belt is ok, the main relay clicks when I turn the switch, there is spark on the sparkplug wires the fuelpump is ok. When crancking it sometimes backfires in the carbureter. Can you help me with a solution? Or what else do I have to chek?

I'm assuming it was running until you changed out the distributor and wires? I'd recheck the distributor placement of the timing--sounds like it could be off. Pull the rubber plug at on the top of the fly wheel, with your #1 piston on top dead center to see where your marks line up. Check your repair manual to see what your spark advance should be and adjust as necessary. Also, it's possible you have mixed up some plug wires if the distributor checks out.
