After sitting for a few minutes with the engine running, I noticed that my tempeture gauge was at Hot. I checked fuses- okay. Opened hood and noticed fan was not running. I turned on the A/C, the fan immediately came on and cooled the engine. I drove for a little while with A/C on, car was at normal temp. I turned A/C off, while idleing, the fan cycled on and off at least twice. I been driving the car since (5 days) without a reoccurance. Would you think that it was a sensor or thermosat that caused the fan not to come on (or something else)? Thank you very much.

Could be a motor that is going out, or a sticky fan switch. The switch should be in the radiator on that car and they are fairly inexpensive, I would try that first.

Hi jmm277,

Check the fan relays too, sometimes the connection or contacts are no good when heated up and won't work.
