Hi,
I own a 1988 Honda Accord LXI Coupe, currently at 182,321 miles. I noticed white smoke coming from my exhaust while I drive (off and on) which started a couple of months ago. Also, I opened up my air filter and noticed that oil is leaking into the filter, and for some strange reason my power steering fluid seems to need to be filled more than normal. Not much is missing, but enough to be noticed. I'm not sure what the deal is. I want to take it to the shops to get it checked out, but being a young female. Seems like I am usually a target for getting ripped off. I'd definitely appreciate the help! Thank you.

White smoke - be careful on that one. You will hear about engine overhaul to engine head gasket and head replacement. Now, I would recommend watching the coolant level on the vehicle real close to see if any coolant is disappearing.

The oil in to the air filter is caused by a vacuum issue. I would replace the PCV valve on the car. Pretty cheap and it is most likely allowing oil to be sucked out of the valve cover and in to the air intake system.

The steering fluid level. You have been watching it and that is good. Now follow the lines to the pump and look for any leaks or seapage. There are lines that go from the pump to the rack (steering) so check that as well for leaks, etc.

The temperture is not overheating, stays pretty normal. As for the PVC Valve, I've replaced that already, turned out the one on there already was not only broken but also the wrong one all together. Thanks for all your help!
