When I stop, or I’m idling with my foot on the brake, and I’m drive my truck makes a load groaning/rumbling noise from under the truck. When I take off it goes away, this seems to only be in drive, and stopped with foot on the brake.

Hi,

That is an interesting one. Since it only happens when stopped and in gear, check to see if the exhaust is hitting anywhere under the vehicle. Also, pay attention to the idle speed when stopped and let me know what it is.

Take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust to see if you can reproduce the sound.

Let me know.

I’ll check the exhaust, the RPMs are 500 at idle.

Hi,

That is a low idle speed. Has it always been that low? Also, is the noise loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear? That could be very helpful.

Let me know.
