Charging Problems

I have a 1992 6 cylinder (3300) Buick Skylark with 240,000 Kms on the clock. The battery on this vechicle will not charge. I removed the alternator and had it tested and it passed. The next suspect was the battery and it to passed the load test. I also replaced a suspect battery clamp. Nonetheless, the battery still will not charge. Is it possible the alternator is still the culprit?

Thanks,
Deanf

Check to make sure the belt is neither stretched nor cracked and worn also check the underside of the hood and look for burn marks as the battery may be just arcing and frying itself and check the main fuses

If you replaced clamps did you also check and make sure you had clean and tight connections? So many times a dirty and/or loose connection is the culprit. If all the parts checked out OK seems like this would be the area to go next. Especially the grounds, clean contact areas till they are "shiny clean", to quote someone who knows what they are talking about.
Good luck :D
