97 Jimmy, has new battery for about 1 month. When turning ignition, the light w would come on the dash but the car would have trouble starting sometimes.

Now when I turn the ignition, the lights on the dashboard do not come on, and the care will crank, but won't start.

Radio, headlights, wipers, all other items will work.

Battery good, Dashboard fuse is OK, alternator was good.

Hey man, I was having the same issue, what you need to do, is pull thte bottom plastic around your steering column. Underneath where you put your key, there is a black box. Carefully and gently, grab a flat screwdriver, the black ignition switch box has an upper and lower section. Try prying the two a little, when doing this, the engine might turn over, but thta's okay, then press is back together, and try again. Otherwise, buy a new switch, they aren't cheap, but I can guarantee you that's what your issue is.
