1997 GMC C1500 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, truck wouldn't turnover this a.M. Even with a jump. Went and bought battery for truck, still won't turn over even with jump. But, all lights come on and radio. So could it be the starter, distributer cap, altenator? Would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you Wendy

Welcome to the forum. If the starter won't even crank, can you tell if there is a load on the starter circuit, key in the start position? Watch the lites, when you try to start, dome lite--dash lites-- headlites, something, do the lites go out-- dim-- flutter, something? If no reaction from lites, suspect an open circuit to the starter. I'd probably start testing at the starter relay. Any testing there, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.
