My truck has recently been a little sluggish to start. I let my wife take it to the gym and when she came out it wouldn't start. The motor turns over and I hear the fuel pump come on with the key (for about 2 seconds) but I'm not getting any ignition. I changed the fuel filter hoping that the old one was clogged. While I had the filter removed I turned on the key and the pump still only came on for a second or two. Is this normal? I have replaced the fuel pump, sending unit, wiring, etc. 4 previous times already (every two years). The truck is not tripping any faults. What do you all think?

I think you should check for spark at the #1 spark plug.

The pump should only be on for 2 seconds and turn off with the "ignition click".

Your problem is more then likely spark related the spark should be bright, well defined, and blue.
