I have the vehicle listed above a two-door model that I just installed a new fuel pump in. It's the pump with the filter built into the module. I also have a 1997 four-door Blazer that the fuel pump just went out. This pump had a strainer, and the float position was 180° in the opposite direction. My question is, will the new pump from my two-door operate correctly enough to supply fuel to my spider injectors? I was able to get it installed after modifying the floats position. I had a mechanic, whom happens to be a Blazer enthusiast, tell me it didn't matter, and that all of the pumps are interchangeable. Now that I've installed it, my girlfriend points out a discussion from another reputable forum in which one of the members was very adamant about them not being interchangeable. As stated, I did modify the float, knowing my gauge may not read correctly, in order for it to fit. Will it work as is or should I use the old module, and just remove the pump from the new one & put it in the four-door module?

Hello,

The physical fuel pump is identical on either model.

Either model uses the CSFI or Spider fuel injection system
Fuel pressure, with engine running, should be at 60-66
PSI (4.1 to 4.5 bar).

You could carry out a fuel [pressure test to verify that the correct pressure is supplied.

How to test fuel pressure:

How to replace the fuel pump:

Please let us know how you get along.

Cheers, Boris

Thanks for the advice. I did get the pump installed before I got your reply, it did work. The only issue was the fuel gauge not working, which I already knew was going to be the case.
