Fuel pressure is 36 psi with the PRG however it will start every time you spray fuel in TB- is like it's not getting spark, but it does. What's with this? Replace crank sensor/igniter and still happening all the time.

Just to clarify, it doesn't start unless you spray starter fluid? If that is the case you have a fuel issue not a spark issue.

I suspect you have an issue with the regulator. Basically you have pressure to the rail but it is not being delivered to the injectors because the regulator is sticking allowing too much fuel to return to the tank.

I attached the testing that you need to find this out. Let us know what you find. Thanks

What about the distributor if there's a problem with the coil, pick-up coil, and condenser.

No. Not if the engine starts and runs on starter fluid. This proves out all the ignition system is working and points directly to a fuel issue. If you are adding fuel with the starter fluid, and it starts then what you are adding is the issue. It is not getting fuel. Let's run through the regulator test and I bet you will find your issue.

Okay. But again, you said the vehicle only starts if you use starter fluid, correct? That tells us that the injectors are not firing.

Does it start on starter fluid and keep running or does it shut off as soon as the starter fluid is used up?

You said in a previous post that "it will start every time you spray fuel in TB- is like it's not getting spark"

You have this backwards. If it starts on starter fluid then spark is fine. You are not getting fuel into the cylinders. Testing fuel pressure just proves out that your fuel pump is able to get fuel to the rail. We need to use a noid light on the injectors and see if the PCM is pulsing the injectors.

Let me know if you have questions.

Does it start on starter fluid and keep running. Yes, then stay running until I shut it off, but when you give it time like 8 hours that's when it refuses to start. Put starter fluid again it will fire up. Puzzle this is over and over again.

When you say FPR you mean you replaced the fuel pressure regulator, correct?

If you have replaced that then yes, we need to check the fuel pressure after it sits for 8 hours. Do not try to crank the engine after it sits. Just hook up the gauge and then turn the key to the on position. This is the one before the engine cranks.

Tell me what the pressure is when you turn it on the first time. Then try cycling the key a number of times and see if it builds more pressure.

The pressures you gave earlier are actually correct but I suspect you took these after the engine had started. We need to see what they are when it has sat overnight.

It's sparking but it's not as we expect blue snapping. It fires up when you just turn it off then restart about 3-5 minutes fires up again. No need for the starter fluid.

Okay. So you only need the starter fluid after it sits overnight? Then after it starts using the starter fluid and you shut it off then restart, it fires right up? If this is the case, we need the fuel pressure when you turn the key to the on position before you use the starter fluid to get it started.

If you have a weak spark, starter fluid would have no effect on it. If you have weak spark then why adding starter fluid gets it to start? Plus if you had a weak spark then why does it restart just fine after you get it going the first time?

I see no issue with the spark because you are not doing anything to change the spark to get it to start. You are only adding fuel so I see no need to suspect you have an ignition issue.

Again, when you are adding starting fluid, you are adding fuel. If it starts using this then the spark is fine and you have a fuel issue.

Let the car sit until it will not start without using starter fluid and just turn the key to the on position so the fuel pump primes the system and tell me what the pressure is.

Thank you very much for help and patience. I nailed it to the fuel pump due leaky check valve pressure reading kept dropping fast every time I check it. So I concluded that's the fuel pump. Thank you very much.

I change the fuel pump again to include the fuel pressure regulator, however when it starts it seems like it's not getting enough fuel and it idles real low. Need help again.
