1992 Ford Tempo won't start

1992 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

this car cranks and the coil sprks only sporadically when it sparks the car fires but it is only once in a while

Could be the coil itself or maybe distributor cap/rotor or the hall effect coil on distributor shaft? When you say coil sparks, do you mean coil wire or just coil itself? These cars are notorious for bad coil wires, and/or internallly corrodes ends.

The wire is good I got shocked! When it fires the car acts like it wants to start even through Me.

To test coil I usually unhook 1 end from distributor cap an stick sparkplug in it and lay it on someting metal on engine. Crank over and watch the spark. And yes, you can get a jolt if you hold/grab wire while doing this! I got some long plastic tongs just for this kind of work!
