Catalytic converter replacement

If your catalytic converter is plugged up, it will create a restriction in your exhaust system. The buildup of backpressure will cause a drastic drop in engine performance and fuel economy, and may even cause the engine to stall after it starts if the blockage is severe.

Hey Tylershook,

There is really no way to clean a converter, once it's clogged it needs replaced. There are a few chemicals that some companies sell that say it cleans it up but I wouldn't trust it because we have tried it and it doesn't work..
