2002 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 88000 miles

When I start my car in the morning the trans. Seems to drag and the car must run for awhile and still will drag. Until I press on the gas hard. The transaxle light comes on the dash.

Take it to a locally-owned trans shop, no national chain shops, for diagnosis. Trans light or od light definitely signals something is amiss, possibly save some major $$$$
