I have a 2002 Ford Taurus SES, last year my blower motor went on it, and had to be replaced, when the man took it out he showed me that it was soaked and thats why it broke. My new problem is that everytime it rains my drivers side floor os drenched, I seriously have a puddle on my floor right now. It has ben raining alot lately and my car smells like wet dog. It is not a leak in the windshield or the windows, I sat in the car for an hour during a rain storm to see if water was leaking through either of those and it wasn't. Please tell me where it is coming from and how to stop it!! Thank You Very Much

if your getting that much water, chances are it is coming in through fresh air intake vent and that is also why your blower mortor was trashed also. it ic coming in where that cover it out by your winshield wipers are it is going up under that plastic thing.you need to take that apart and figure a way to seal that back up where water can't run under it.(NOS) 8)

Suggested Repair

Inspect the fresh-air intake and plastic cowl cover beneath the windshield wipers, then reseal any path that lets rain run underneath into the HVAC and driver floor. If water still enters, have the windshield seal checked and resealed.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 2002 Ford Taurus SES reports a soaked driver-side floor during rain and a wet-dog smell. A previously replaced blower motor was also found soaked. The owner did not see water entering through the windshield or side windows during a rain test. An expert said heavy water entry likely comes through the fresh-air intake under the cowl cover by the wipers and advised disassembling and sealing that area. The owner later said the windshield itself was leaking and needed resealing, but was not covered by a related recall.
