Tires and Wheels problem
2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Automatic 169000 miles

I noticed that everytime I make a turn and step on the gas my car is make a rattling sound mainly on the left side. Also when I step on the gas to speed up after making the turn, the car is making the same rattling and sputtering like its trying to catch up. All of this goes on doing 25-45mph. When I'm on the highway, it doesn't make this noise but the right side passenger tires shakes. Can you please help because I don't know if I need to take it to a tire repair shop or a motor repair shop?

Thanks!

If the tire shakes, chances are there is a steering component loose and should be replaced. Could the rattle be coming from a heat shield on the exhaust system?

Well I took to the repair shop and they said that I needed a front end alignment and the tie rods needed to be replaced as well as the exhaust hangers. All of that would cost me about $355 to have done.

I had a feeling it was a tie rod when you said the tire would shake, and an exhaust rattle. The price quoted doesn't sound too bad, so I would go with it.
