I have a 99 ford taurus se that I jus recently replaced the alternator on. We had the alternator checked and they said it was good. When we put jumper cables on the battery it runs but when we take them off it dies completely. We can't figure out wat the problem is. Thanks for your help.

When you remove the cables and it dies, do the electrical components still work?

Have you checked the main 100amp fuse in the power distribution box under the hood? Also, is the ground to the engine block good?
