I am working on a 90 Taurus for a friend. 70,000 miles with a 4cyl engine. The engine cranks over just fine, but it won't start. My limited knowledge on a Taurus is the fuel pump in the gas tank, which in this case I do not think is the problem. The ignition module which I replaced, did not help. I checked the coil. There is no spark coming out of it to the plugs, There is power from the battery to the coil however. I replaced the coil and still have the same problem. Does anyone know what else I should be checking? Thanks.

Did you check the conditions of the cap and rotor, if that rotor tip is too far from the tower contact inside spark w/n make it to the plugs.

Stick a test light at the neg. Side of the coil while cranking it is it blinking? If not could be the distributor pick-up or CPS.

What did the coil has to say when you check it-meaning resistances.

Find the schraeder valve on the fuel rail-press it -do you see fuel.
