My car stopped running on me while driving and after it shut off it won't start again.

I just replaced the spark plugs today, and my battery is basically brand new. When I try to crank it up, the car will sound like it's going to start up, but in the end it just won't turn over.

I am at a loss for ideas. I can't afford a mechanic and I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas, or perhaps had this happen to them before.

*Thanks*

Check fuel pressure (or lack of fuel pressure thereof), compression, sparks. The fact that you replaced the spark plugs doesn't mean you are getting a spark.
When you turn the key to ON, can you hear your fuel pump coming on? When you attempt to start the car, how's your starter cranking? (Fast, normal, slow).
If faster than usual, you could have a broken timing belt. If slower than usual, check the voltage at the starter.
Again, check for fuel, spark and compression; that's where the troubleshooting starts.

This is going to sound crazy but check the alternator. My truck did the same thing. Basiclly what happened is I was driving down the road and the truck shut off and the alternator had not been charging my battery because it was bad.
