1996 Ranger no start, 2.3 lt. 166,000 5spd

Driving home and the old ranger died, felt like a fuel problem, started off a light and slowly died, got it home and checked fuel pressure has 32 lbs tested plug wire with screwdriver to ground and nothing, has two coil packs, friend said could be module, have never tested new electrical systems, any ideas or what to check and where, did change the fuel filter thank you for any advise
