My car died when driving down the road. The engine light is on and the air bag flashes a code 12. I don't seem to be getting any fire to my engine. I don't know if the air bag code is the reason. I live in a remote area and no shops have a code reader for my car.
is there some way to reset or find out why the car won't start.
Thank you in advance.

Ok first unplug the battery and reset the codes. Now if you would get a philips screw driver and pull a spark plug wire and put it near metal ie valve cover and crank it and see if there is spark. Let me know what you find.

I tried to reset the codes by pully the battery cabel and I have also pulled a spark plug and pluged it into the spark plug wire and had someone turn the car over. There was no spark from the plug. The compression is good. What do you think is the likly cause.

Ok if you would remove the distributor cap and then turn the engine over does the rotor turn? Is this the Probe gt or no? Get back to me so we can get this back to running.

Yes this is a probe gt v6 5 speed.
The dist. Cap turns when the engine is cranked over so I think the timing belt is ok. The check engine light is on when you turn the key to the on position and stays on when you crank it.

To reset it you have to unplug the negative battery wire and hold the brakes in for 20 seconds.
