I started having problems with my car a few months ago. The spark plugs kept going bad. Within a month and a half we put 5 new sets of plugs in the car. It would run approx. a week then stop running again. We have put 4 more sets of plugs in the car but none of them will start it. We were told by a few people that it was most likely the Fuel pressure regulator. My boyfriend changed it today and still no luck. The only difference now is the car does not sound like it is flooded when you try and crank it over. But it still doesn't start. Any ideas? Please!!! Try using carb cleaner thru the throttle body-if it starts and dies out-check the fuel pressure and for injection pulses. If not check the ignition system-disconnect a sparkplug wire ground it to the engine and have helper crank engine over-do you have spark? If not test all your ignition related components.

If its direct ignition system-try checking the crankshaft sensor-If my mind serves me well-I believe this is a distributor-the fix is replacing the distributor-

I still can't get my Probe to run. Since I last posted anything We have done this with NO luck.. We changed the Crank sensor, distributer & module, new sparks plugs about 5 times, pushed the fuel reset button, checked the timing & all the fuses, fuel pressure regulator. I think thats it.

With the crank sensor. When my nephew went to unplug it the wires looked like they were burnt. One of the 3 wires just broke off inside of the other adapter and the other two were just melted really bad. I don't know what else to do. It just cranks and cranks. Now they think there is a wire burned off somewhere. The car is NOT getting ANY fire to the plugs. The distibuter is turning like it should. My car has been in the shop for two weeks and the mechanic said he was 99.9% sure about the crank sensor but. It didn't work. We even tried using starting fluid. If there is ANYONE with any idea's please help me! You can email me @

The only thing left is the wires from the CPS to the computer or the computer itself
